Council reviews draft 2025 budget and learns city entered continuous audit status for 2022–23

The Finance Officer also reported contact from Glenda Goens of the South Dakota Department of Legislative Audit: because the city's receipts exceed the $600,000 threshold, the city is in continuous audit status and the years 2022 and 2023 must be audited. Council did not authorize expenditures tied specifically to the audit at the meeting; the finance office will manage audit scheduling and reporting.
