The Medford Area Public School District Board of Education approved its consent agenda and authorized a $144,492 allocation from unallocated funds at its Aug. 25, 2025 meeting.
On a motion by Board Member Brian Hallgren, seconded by Clerk Steve Deml, the board approved the consent agenda, which included the agenda itself; the Secretary’s Report; minutes from the July 28, 2025 regular meeting; the treasurer’s report; personnel reports including the addendum; and the district’s model for special education policies and procedures. The motion carried.
District Administrator Laura Lundy presented a finance update and recommended reallocating $144,492 from unallocated reserves to cover projected increases in utilities, the Wisconsin Retirement System contribution, property insurance and related expenses. The board approved the allocation as presented; the record in the transcript states the motion was carried with no opposed votes.
The board also recorded a separate set of finance motions described in the minutes as "all in favor, none opposed," including a certificate-of-deposit renewal. The transcript does not record detailed tallies or the mover/second for the CD renewal beyond noting the motion carried.
Board President Dave Fleegel opened the meeting by noting procedural compliance: "This meeting has been posted in accordance with the state open meeting law." The meeting began at 6:04 p.m. and adjourned at 6:44 p.m.
