South Ogden unveils redesigned city website with improved mobile layout and ADA tool

City technology and communications staff demonstrated a redesigned municipal website intended to improve mobile usability and make commonly sought services easier to find. Staff highlighted changes including a reorganized home page that prioritizes meetings and minutes, a new recreation tab, a passport section, and analytics to track which pages users visit most. The site also includes an ADA accessibility widget to help comply with state requirements.
"When you open the websites on your phone a lot of times this is going to be the links that you click up here not the scroll down..." the presenter said, urging council members to test the site on both desktop and mobile. Council members offered suggestions — publish the city newsletter prominently, add a heritage-trails map, and ensure images and department contacts are correct — and staff said the site is an ongoing work in progress.
