Casey Scott, representing the Ogden Golf & Country Club, told the council the club will host the Korn Ferry Tour July 30 through Aug. 3 and asked South Ogden for early coordination on permits and volunteer support. "coming July 30 through August 3, the world is gonna be have all eyes on the Ogden Golf and Country Club because that is when the Korn Ferry Tour will be happening," Scott said.
Scott and club pro Bob Wallace said the multiday event — a feeder tour to the PGA — will be broadcast internationally and could draw tens of thousands of visitors to the area. "We haven't had a PGA Tour event at the Ogden Golf and Country Club since 1963," Wallace said, noting recent facility upgrades and an estimated 15 to 18,000 people over four days. Organizers asked the council to consider an upcoming variance request to place sponsor and supporter signage along US‑89/Washington Boulevard and to coordinate volunteers, fan zones and traffic staging.
Mayor and council members welcomed the proposal and suggested staff work with organizers on a formal request and permit plan. Councilors and staff flagged timing and coordination with nearby businesses as issues staff should resolve before a variance is presented on a future agenda.
