Acting Chair Alderman Senate called the meeting to order at 8:40 p.m. and the committee voted to split the resolution so each line item could be considered individually.
Alderman Johnson moved to “split the vote” so members could vote on each line separately; after discussion Director Tim Cummings explained how the question could be itemized and the committee could vote on each row. Cummings said the administration is developing a program to allocate gaming revenues and “I'd like … in the fall, come before you with a recommendation” for a more formalized process. Committee members repeatedly requested more detailed backup on specific line items before the full Board of Aldermen vote, particularly for COVID/FEMA-related reimbursements.
