Vice Chair Carol Hibbs explained the usual ask is $2,000 but that this year, America’s 250th birthday, is prompting a larger fireworks display and the increased request.
The motion to approve the donation was moved and seconded and carried 3-0. The board authorized the county to provide the funds to the event organizers.
