County signs Summit Street resurfacing maintenance agreement with Marshalltown

The Marshall County Board approved an agreement for payment of maintenance expenses for the 2026 Summit Street Maintenance Project and authorized the chair to sign. County Engineer Paul Geilenfeldt clarified that the resurfacing will cover the stretch from roughly 21st Street to Valley View Road and that the City of Marshalltown had already approved the work.
The motion to approve the maintenance payment agreement passed 3-0. County staff said the agreement coordinates county and city responsibilities for resurfacing and related maintenance work.
