Marshall County supervisors on April 8 approved Iowa DOT Agreement No. 2025-R-006, a Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy (RISE) agreement that county engineer Paul Geilenfeldt said brings together funding from four streams for a road project whose total cost will exceed $3 million. The board authorized the chair to sign the agreement; the motion passed 3-0.
Geilenfeldt told the supervisors this is the third agreement completed for the RISE project and that the RISE program will contribute $1,016,482. He said the county plans to let the project in August 2026, which likely means construction will begin in 2027. The vote was made on a motion by Vice Chair Carol Hibbs and seconded by Member Christian Goodman.
