After executive session, council authorizes liability letter and accepts park employee resignation

The board convened in executive session to discuss a Park Department personnel matter involving a maintenance employee and the possibility of pending litigation. In executive session Alderman Brent Sistrunk moved (seconded by Alderman John Banks) to authorize City Attorney Bobby Lingold to draft a letter to C‑Spire and MSI, Inc. stating the city is not liable for the Tabor Claim; the motion carried with each alderman recorded as voting "Aye."
Also in executive session the board accepted the resignation of park employee Randy Myers effective June 30, 2025. That motion was made by Alderman Brian Grantham and seconded by Alderman John Banks, and the vote was recorded as unanimous. The board returned to open session at 7:16 p.m. and adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
