The board also voted in executive session to hire Canyon Bilbro as a full-time patrolman at $21.06 per hour, with a start date of July 17, 2025, contingent upon a successful background check and drug and alcohol testing. Alderman John Banks made the motions to accept the resignations and to hire Bilbro; motions carried unanimously. The board returned to open session at 7:15 p.m. and Mayor Trey Gunn adjourned the meeting.
