Florence board appoints MML voting delegates, approves claims and minutes, directs engineering on downtown traffic-signal repairs

The board took several administrative actions during its June 17 meeting. Alderman Mason Herrin moved, and Alderman John Banks seconded, the appointment of Alderman Trey Gunn as the voting delegate to the Mississippi Municipal League (MML) and Alderman Brian Grantham as alternate. The motion carried unanimously.
"A Motion was made by Alderman Herrin, seconded by Alderman Banks to appoint Alderman Trey Gunn as MML voting delegate and to appoint Alderman Brian Grantham as the alternate voting delegate. The Motion was carried by a unanimous vote." The board also authorized engineering services to work with the City Attorney and MSI, Inc. concerning necessary repairs at the downtown red light project after a motion by Alderman Trey Gunn, seconded by Alderman John Helms; that motion carried unanimously as well.
Additionally, the board approved the mid-month claims docket (motion Alderman John Helms; second Alderman Trey Gunn) and approved the Minutes of June 10, 2025 (motion Alderman Mason Herrin; second Alderman Brian Grantham). Mayor Morris adjourned the meeting at 6:40 p.m.; City Clerk Linda Wigley attested the minutes. The signature block in the minutes includes the text "TREY GUNN 7-2-2025," but the meeting record shows Mayor Morris presided at this session.
