At its Oct. 8 meeting the Goose Creek City Council approved a staff request to make purchases under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program (EECBG) for up to $76,520. City staff said the grant has been approved and that the city must spend the money up front before seeking reimbursement under the grant terms.
Addressed in the meeting as "Mrs. Ziegler," staff explained the mechanics: the city will incur the initial cost and will submit for reimbursement because the grant is already approved. Councilman Harmon moved to approve the purchase and Councilmember Eno Sims seconded; the council carried the motion by voice vote with no recorded opposition in the transcript. The item is administrative in nature and staff will proceed with procurement consistent with grant requirements.
