On Mayor Trey Gunn's recommendation the board confirmed multiple appointments across city government. Actions approved included appointing Bobby Lingold as city attorney and prosecutor; Engineering Service/Tim Parker as city engineer; Linda Wigley as city clerk; Windham & Lacey, PLLC as municipal auditors; Brad Burns as police chief; Melissa McCue as court clerk; Kevin Stewart as municipal judge; Witney Adams as judge pro-tem; and Greg Hemphill as indigent attorney. Most were carried unanimously. The motion to appoint Alderman Brian Grantham as Mayor Pro-Tem carried with Grantham recorded as abstaining on that particular vote.
The board also voted to make the mayor's position a full-time role effective August 1, 2025, with an annual salary of $70,000.00; the motion was made by Alderman John Banks and seconded by Alderman Brent Sistrunk and carried unanimously.
