"Those were installed, and they are now live," Pacheco said, adding that staff have adjusted angles and timestamps and have seen no severe incidents since activation. She said park staff can access footage and police have access to IT facilities when an incident requires review; the cameras are not actively monitored in real time. Pacheco also described a reinstated CPD (police) program that has officers perform after‑hours checks of restrooms and supply weekly reports to parks staff.
The director said security gates planned for the skate park have not yet been set to close at 10 p.m. because additional project items requested by council remain under consideration; she said the gate change will be discussed at an upcoming council meeting. Board members asked who can view footage; Pacheco said park staff and police have access as needed and that officers provide weekly reports of findings.
The board also discussed cameras at Spring Creek Preserve; staff said updates will follow once internet connections and funding are determined.
