Garland All Abilities Committee sets speakers and future items including libraries, police and virtual attendance

Staff read a tally of suggested future agenda items and said they would distribute embedded resource links and pending-items lists. Items on the list included inviting the GISD buddy lead, the city’s incoming chief information officer for website accessibility work, the public information officer for Garland Police to discuss Garland Safe and Citizens on Patrol, the library director for updates to the library master plan, My Possibilities to discuss Braille and communications access, and discussion of making virtual attendance available. Staff said they will check with the city attorney on legal/meeting rules for virtual participation and will email details to the committee.
The chair invited members to prioritize items and noted the committee will continue collecting ideas; the meeting adjourned afterward.
