Granville Arts Center to host Omnium Circus in Garland with accessible performances

Amy Rosenthal, Garland’s Cultural Arts Director, presented the committee with plans to host Omnium Circus during renovations at the Granville Arts Center. She described the troupe as a national company that "highlights people of all abilities," said the ringmaster communicates in ASL, and that the production includes audio description to improve accessibility.
Rosenthal gave dates and ticket information and asked the committee to help spread the word. "The circus is Monday, March 16 at 07:00 and Tuesday, March 17 at 10:30 and at 01:30," she said. On pricing she stated, "Tickets are, dollars 25 for adults and 20 for youth or students," and noted a group rate for 10 or more attendees and partnerships with local disability organizations. Rosenthal said the atrium staging was chosen to provide single-level access for patrons who use mobility devices and that staff are coordinating captioning and audio-description supports.
Committee members asked about wheelchair accessibility and group outreach; Rosenthal said the atrium allows floor-level seating and the city will provide accessible accommodations for audience members. Staff will circulate ticket links and promotional materials and work with local nonprofits and schools to maximize attendance.
