The Dublin Planning and Zoning Commission held an informal review of Case 207INF, a proposal by Wright Patt Credit Union to adapt the building at 48 Corbins Mill Drive and add a single-lane virtual teller machine (VTM) canopy. Applicant Brian Weaver of MT Studio said the credit union is in due diligence and intends a discreet canopy and interior lender offices, noting the building previously had a drive-through and a second curb cut removed in 2017. "Wright Patt Credit Union is a financial institution. They have several branches in the Columbus market already, and we're excited about the potential to come into Dublin," Weaver said.
Staff and commissioners focused on pedestrian orientation and code compliance. Senior planner Sarah Holt described the Bridge Street District goal of fronting buildings to the street and said a drive-through is a conditional use that requires extra scrutiny. Staff pointed out the submitted diagram showed four stacking spaces while eight are required by code, warning that insufficient stacking "would block access to the nearest parking on-site, and staff is concerned that it will overwhelm the site with auto related uses." Commissioners asked for transaction-rate data, alternative walk-up or internal ATM configurations, and clarified the applicant’s willingness to support closure of the Bridal Street curb cut and to maintain screening near adjacent residences. Because this item was informal, the commission provided comments but took no formal vote; staff asked the applicant to return with a revised design addressing pedestrian access, stacking and how the canopy would meet Bridge Street character.
