Goldsmith says IT transition is progressing; targets phased cutover and on‑site consumable inventory

Goldsmith Solutions presented an operational update on the county’s IT transition. The vendor said it has met with department heads, begun compiling system documentation and inventories, and scheduled follow‑up interviews and touch‑base meetings to gather configuration, agreement and invoice data required for onboarding.
The vendor described a phased approach: desktop machines and day‑to‑day support will be migrated first, with larger data‑center components and backups transitioned in a subsequent phase. Goldsmith said the target “cutover” window is mid‑December, subject to overlap with the outgoing provider to ensure continuity. The company recommended maintaining a small on‑site inventory of parts and consumables (cables, connectors, batteries, spare keyboards) to reduce repair lead times and offered to coordinate procurement under cooperative purchasing agreements where possible.
Goldsmith also said it can help the county obtain a secondary internet connection for county buildings and offered to explore partnerships with providers already building fiber in the area. The vendor requested a county contact list and building inventory to finalize its logistics and said it will provide a list of recommended consumables for county approval and procurement.
