The plan also replaces lawn within a small wetland area with native wetland plantings to improve habitat and water quality.
Soil scientist Eric Davison testified there are no direct wetland impacts and that the rain garden will reduce runoff reaching Secret Lake. Staff recommended conditions that include annual inspections of mitigation plantings for three years. Commissioner Thomas Kassan moved to approve (the motion language in the transcript references 'Application #801'); Commissioner Robert Breckinridge seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
