The city's marketing team outlined a multi-channel communications campaign to inform voters about the May 2 bond election, saying the effort includes a dedicated web page, social-media posts, free digital billboard placements, 2,000 postcards, yard signs and a schedule of three mailers through March and April.
Claudia Garibay, marketing and communications director, said the bond web page has 512 views so far and the city uploaded its explanatory video to GPTV and YouTube. "We have a dedicated bond web page, which was launched immediately after your vote," she said, and staff are using print, digital and grassroots tactics, including a multifamily outreach kit to share with landlords.
Garibay emphasized materials will be produced in English, Spanish and Vietnamese and that the city ran copy past legal to ensure factual accuracy. She told council members the campaign will continue to adjust based on resident feedback and that staff will make translators available at sessions that serve neighborhoods with high non-English populations.
Council members pressed for more sessions north of Highway 30 and asked how to share the video; staff said the video is accessible via the city's bond web page and the City of Grand Prairie YouTube channel.
