He said state forest road specialists helped identify training sites in Santiam and Forest Grove and that the first training is scheduled for early August, with additional sessions planned for the fall to refine field methods and ensure consistency across surveyors.
The presentation noted outreach and coordination steps are already underway: stewardship foresters have been contacted and the program completed initial landowner calls; the team plans a second mailing and a final outreach call to nonresponding landowners. No formal votes or policy changes were proposed; the update was procedural and focused on implementation readiness.
