"Once we get those finalized, then it will go back for another round of estimating to make sure that we're still on budget and then and we'll move forward," said Karen, the presenting library staff member.
Staff described specific finish choices for the adult and children's areas, including carpet plank for high‑traffic adult zones and a colorful honeycomb carpet tile for the children's play area. They said some linoleum and older flooring will be replaced with durable LVT in vending and utility zones, and that the contractor will use taped carpet tile installation to allow single‑tile replacements rather than full glue installations. Staff emphasized phasing the work so summer reading programs and children’s services are least affected, while acknowledging there may be short, occasional closures for particular construction activities.
