Local Government Insurance Trust gives Calvert Sheriff's Office $14,293.60 for EVOC refresher training

The board welcomed a presentation from the Local Government Insurance Trust (LGIT), which presented a grant check for $14,293.60 to the Calvert County Sheriff's Office to fund emergency vehicle operations course (EVOC) training.
"It is my distinct privilege today to deliver a grant check to the county … in the amount of $14,293.60," Matt Peter of LGIT said, describing the grant's purpose as refresher EVOC training for deputies and praising the Sheriff's Office for taking steps to reduce driving accidents. Sheriff Cox thanked LGIT and staff and said the county will send deputies to an EVOC training center on the Eastern Seaboard to improve safety.
