Richie Anderson, an LMCD board member and Orono resident, urged council to object and to summon the LMCD executive director to explain why personnel and program spending increased sharply. Anderson criticized a chart sent to cities as "misrepresentative," said the LMCD’s personnel component rose substantially since 2014 and that the district has reduced some AIS activities, and asked for greater transparency. Councilmembers said they wanted clarification before deciding whether to formally object; they directed staff to draft an objection letter requesting a presentation from the LMCD executive director or board chair. The motion to prepare the letter and request an in‑person briefing carried unanimously.
