Town names Dan Bowles mayor pro tem; council OKs funding for long‑delayed pipe repairs

Councilman Troy Mullenax told the neighborhood council that the town recently elected Dan Bowles as mayor pro tem and moved forward on several infrastructure repairs. "We basically did, appoint or elect a new mayor pro tem. Dan Bowles is mayor pro tem," he said, adding the choice followed customary seniority rotation.

Mullenax said the council also appropriated funding to fix pipe failures and sinkholes that have caused recurring drainage problems on Stiles Drive, Mayflower, Julia and Chandler. He described the repairs as "long due" and said the appropriation was a major item debated and approved at the town meeting. The neighborhood council did not provide a vote tally for the appropriation in this meeting's discussion. The town cochair said petitions and resident outreach would continue on other agenda items.
