"I think this board needs to go through kind of a visioning of a tree board and think, you know, it does the parks board want to remain based on the types of things you'd like to see happen with trees," the staff member said.
A board member asked whether the parks board could manage tree work during initial years and then spin off a focused commission if needed; another board member suggested a subcommittee or a temporary commission for project-specific work (for example, a dog-park or Dial Park effort). A resident-style comment urged a nature walk and underbrush work at Dial Park: "I would love to have, like, a nature walk back in there." The board agreed staff should bring a visioning plan and an implementation approach to the next meeting.
