City staff reviewed prior abatement work at 6088 Shoal Road and presented photos showing remaining discarded furnishings and overgrowth in the rear yard. Staff noted the certified letter to the owner was returned unclaimed and that there had been no communication with the zoning office.
Owner Kenneth Whitson addressed the board and said he had removed many items but needed time to finish; the chair and board members discussed contractor availability and inspection procedures and offered the owner an extension. The board voted to grant a 30-day extension on PMRB 26-16 rather than immediate city abatement, and staff said they will recheck the property and post notice before any contractor visit.
"So you have 30 days, sir," the chair told the owner after the motion carried. The board recorded the motion and staff will follow up to confirm compliance or schedule abatement if violations remain after the extension.
