Council approved a resolution authorizing a purchase agreement with Willow Ventures LLC for approximately two acres at 6976–9690 Timbercrest Drive. Staff said the acquisition had been discussed in executive session and is intended to preserve a residential buffer; the measure passed 9–0.
Residents from the Willow Creek neighborhood who attended expressed concern about flooding into a nearby creek, existing erosion and the potential effect of future development. Cheryl Benson (Willow Creek HOA) asked when planning commission consideration would occur and requested that the city notify Willow Creek residents beyond the standard 250‑foot notice. Staff said rezoning would be required for residential use and that the planning commission public hearing process provides multiple opportunities for public comment; they agreed to extra outreach to affected lots.
Residents urged tree‑line preservation and asked whether the city would require an HOA and property maintenance. Staff and planners said stormwater detention, ongoing maintenance and any private‑street/HOA arrangements would be addressed during the detailed development plan and required covenants.
