During routine business the Board approved multiple personnel actions and classifications. Motions included approving Savannah Rivers as a full-time Dispatcher at $25.75 per hour ($53,550 per year); temporary/seasonal classifications for roadworkers Steve Bigham ($25.80/hr) and Martin Heberlie ($24.66/hr; not to exceed 720 hours/year); and salary increases for Veronica Viteri (to $28.51/hr, $59,303/yr) and Wyatt Hanson (to $32.21/hr, $67,000/yr). Each personnel motion passed by unanimous roll call.
The Board addressed a nepotism question after discussing Employee Handbook #107 and N.D.C.C. 44-04-09 concerning hiring relatives. The Board moved to "approve and comply with the Mountrail County Employee Handbook 107 Hiring of Relatives and N.D.C.C. 44-04-09 Nepotism to allow Engineer Hennessy the hiring capability of her son in the Road & Bridge." Commissioner Joan Hollekim stated that his direct contact would be the Road & Bridge Supervisor in managing any direct oversight. The transcript does not record any formal complaint or abstention in the vote.
