Commissioners approve corrections promotion, PERS contribution increase and handbook changes

The board approved a promotion for Jacob Roberts to Correctional Officer II, moving him from band B22 to B23 at $32.53 per hour (annualized $67,652). The motion to approve the promotion was moved by Commissioner DeGroot, seconded by Commissioner Rice and passed by roll call vote with all five commissioners recorded as yes.
Human Resources Generalist Randi Schumaier presented changes to retirement contributions through PERS and recommended an employer contribution increase from 13.26% to 13.77% for qualified employees, effective Feb. 1; the minutes state employees will pick up the remaining balance. The board approved that change on a unanimous roll-call vote. Schumaier also presented recommendations from the Human Resource Advisory Committee; the board approved amendments to the Mountrail County Employee Handbook as recommended.
All personnel items were approved by roll call with no recorded opposition in the minutes.
