The Southside School District Board of Directors voted unanimously May 27 to adopt Policy 3205, Sexual Harassment of Students, and Policy 3210, Nondiscrimination. The motions to adopt Policy 3205 and Policy 3210 were recorded as Robbins/Brush and Brush/Stoffle, respectively, and “Motion carried unanimously.”
The adoptions formalize the district's stance on student sexual-harassment complaints and nondiscriminatory practices and bring the board's written policies into alignment with recent policy review work the superintendent outlined earlier in the meeting. The items appeared on the agenda under "Discussion and Action Items" and were approved during the business portion of the meeting.
The board did not record any dissents or recorded abstentions on the two adoptions. The policies will be posted with other district policies and become part of the district policy manual as adopted.
