Senator Vince Borja opened the event by introducing himself and Vice Speaker Tony Atta and saying the legislature was "here to recognize the DYA summer interns for your participation in the Guam summer youth employment program." He read a formal commendation (certificate number 417Dash38) attesting to the interns' service and said the award was signed and attested by legislative officers and the legislative secretary.
Vice Speaker Tony Atta thanked interns and their supervisors, praised the variety of offices where interns worked — from the clerk's office to finance, HR and committee staff — and encouraged returning students to reapply next year. The ceremony concluded with staff remarks of appreciation and a group photograph to mark the end of the program.
