Henderson to buy used 2009 aerial fire truck; station door repairs approved

Fire Chief Doug Acred described a used 2009 aerial fire truck offered by Goodlettsville Fire Department and told the board the apparatus "worked as expected." Ald. Smith noted that buying used would be substantially cheaper than a new unit.
The board discussed logistics: the new truck would not fit the current bay door and E & T Contracting estimated $25,000 to raise and modify the door frame. The board agreed the $25,000 would come from capital outlay funds. Ald. Barber moved to authorize purchase of the 2009 aerial truck for $400,000 and to fund the station door renovation; Ald. Phelps seconded and the motion carried.
