The Henderson Board approved the employee health-insurance matching rate for the 2025 plan year, setting the city's contribution at 90.5% of the single-coverage premium and the city portion at $760 per month.
City Recorder Jim E. Garland presented a report showing an aggregate premium increase of 1.6% for calendar 2025 and proposed setting the employee share at "a little less than 10%" with the city paying the remainder based on the most expensive Preferred PPO single coverage. "For coverage starting Jan 1, 2025, the city portion will be $760 per month per employee," Garland said. Alderman Donna R. Butler moved to approve the matching rate; Alderman Michael Phelps seconded and the motion carried.
The board recorded no roll-call tally for this motion. The recorder did not provide per-employee cost-sharing for family or other tiers at the meeting; only single-coverage figures and the aggregate increase were discussed.
