Board authorizes demolition bids, approves rip-rap purchase; notes $41,000 multimodal overruns

Public Works Director Carter Scales told the board that Stoll’s Woodcrafts & Metal completed a new building and Public Works staff moved the salt; the board authorized staff to solicit bids for demolition and removal of the old building. Recorder Jim E. Garland reported Multi-Modal project line items have quantity overruns totaling about $41,000 and said the overruns need discussion with the engineer.
For Gene Record Park, Park Superintendent Eric Miller discussed a ditch and drainage issue and Alderman Mark A. Barber said only small slag (33C) is available now, which is inadequate. The board authorized purchase of rip-rap for drainage up to the budgeted amount of $50,000 to address the issue.
