Board authorizes bids and studies for water, gas and corrosion repairs

Russell also said the city needs approximately 6,000 feet of two-inch natural-gas piping to restock inventory; the board accepted a low quote of $8,574 from Consolidated Pipe and Supply for materials.
Russell further explained that an anode bed casing at the water plant is more than 30 years old and recommended an assessment to determine corrective action; he estimated the study would cost roughly $4,000–$5,000 to be charged to the gas engineering line item. The board approved the assessment to identify needed repairs to prevent corrosion-related pipe deterioration.
