Board approves multiple Kaliseum and parks rental agreements; waives fees for Good News Club

Parks & Recreation Director Chad Williams updated the committee on event revenue and usage, raised concerns about unsupervised youth and equipment damage, and outlined staffing needs for scheduled practices and events. The board discussed alcohol-sales rules for user groups and caretaker staffing for Log Lake.
The committee authorized the Chair to sign the Gun and Knife Show Agreement, the KAHA Car Show Agreement, the Kalkaska Youth Baseball/Softball Agreement and an Elk Rapids Lions Club Rental Agreement. Commissioners also agreed to waive Kaliseum Large Conference Room rental fees for the Good News Club in exchange for in-kind services, pending a formal agreement to be presented on April 16, 2025.
