Mountrail County commissioners approved several Road & Bridge actions May 19, including a Chip Seal Agreement with Morris Sealcoat & Trucking, Inc. for Project PM2026 totaling $739,486.27 and authorized a Notice to Proceed. The board also approved change order #1 for Projects CR10 & CR11 with Martin Construction Inc., reflecting a net decrease of $3,536.82.
Engineer Jana Hennessy discussed a Petro Hunt request concerning pipeline crossing permits and produced water, noting the normal crossing permit language does not specifically reference production water. The board voted to allow Petro Hunt to use the pipeline crossing permits for produced water. The board also voted to allow Commissioner Jason Rice to participate in the discussion despite the item involving property owned by his father and brother; the motion to allow his participation carried by unanimous vote.
Commissioners discussed gravel on CR10 and, based on HDR Engineering’s advice that the material meets the correct class, agreed to use the gravel on the roadway with a change order to appear at a future meeting. The PM2026 contract and change order were approved by roll call.
