Mountrail commissioners send Land Development Code back to Planning & Zoning for more community input

The Mountrail County Commission voted May 19 to send the county’s Land Development Code back to the Planning & Zoning (P&Z) board for further public engagement and review.
P&Z Chairman Charlie Sorenson told commissioners he believes “the best option is to send it back to the P&Z board to give more community/constituents involvement.” P&Z Assistant Malinda Gunderson and other participants including representatives of Mountrail Williams Electric Cooperative discussed technical issues including large-load program communications; commissioners agreed that returning the draft to P&Z would allow more community input before the county advances the code.
Chairman Trudy Ruland said the commission supported that approach, and the motion to return the code passed on a unanimous roll call.
