Superintendent Paul Wieneke told the Southside School District Board that he will retire on June 30, 2026, and that his statement serves as his six-month notice under his interim superintendent contract. "I, Paul Wieneke, am retiring from the Southside School District on 6/30/26. This is my 6 month notice, as per current interim superintendent contract," Wieneke stated to the board.
Board Chair Laurie Cox thanked Wieneke for his work at Southside, and board members said they will move forward with a search process. The board agreed that a WASA job posting will be developed and posted to begin the superintendent search; a special meeting will be scheduled to address transition-related items. The minutes record the board's agreement to post the vacancy to WASA but do not specify a timeline for applications or an external hiring firm.
