The Mountrail County Commission approved the sale of a county-owned house at 2 Valley Drive in Stanley for $390,000 at its Jan. 20 meeting. Angela Olson of Reynolds Realty presented two offers; Building Supervisor Tammy Leupp was present for the presentation. The board voted to approve the Ortega offer contingent on financing, appraisal and inspection, and set a closing deadline of on or before Feb. 24, 2026 with earnest money of $2,000.
"Moved by Comm. DeGroot, seconded by Comm. Rice, to approve the sale of the County-owned land and house located at 2 Valley Dr. Stanley ND ... to Tomas & Kylea Ortega in the amount of $390,000 contingent on financing, appraisal and inspection with a closing date of on or before February 24, 2026 with earnest money of $2,000," the minutes record. The motion carried on a roll-call vote with Commissioners Wayne Olson, Joan Hollekim, Trudy Ruland, Jason Rice and John DeGroot recorded as voting yes.
The transaction was presented during the scheduled 9:10 A.M. appointment slot; the county auditor’s office will hold the recorded documents and the file will reflect the contingency items until closing.
