The presenter said Rocky Mountain Power and local ratepayers should not be burdened with first-time design and licensing costs for Natrium, arguing those costs should be borne by investors who will profit from future sales. "The investment in a new technology should be borne by our investors, people like Bill Gates and, our other investors, which include, HD Hyundai and SK," the presenter said.
He framed federal support as necessary to keep the United States competitive with state-owned international firms. The presenter noted the $2 billion federal grant and said government funding levels the playing field against foreign competitors that receive state support.
