Lt. Travis House of the Michigan State Police presented 2025 activity numbers to the committee. House said the Post conducted 7,381 traffic stops in 2025 (an average of about 615 per month), made 50 OWI arrests and issued 2,805 citations. He also reported 4,231 incidents and 2,253 dispatched calls for the year and said closure-rate details will be available in coming months.
House said the Post is considering assigning a trooper to the Traverse Narcotics Team (TNT) and that forthcoming retirements will open one or two cadet positions. Committee members thanked the Post for the statistics and asked for follow-up when closure-rate figures are available.
