Human services intern describes housing a client who had lived in his car for decades

Norina Bogosian, a human services outreach intern with the City of Auburn, described daily outreach activity and a recent housing placement that she helped manage. "My job is to assist the department in outreach specifically...we'll go out and we'll make contact with clients and start the case management process," Bogosian said, describing fieldwork that includes walking parks and connecting residents to services.
Bogosian recounted a high-impact success: "We got him picked for housing, which is so exciting. And I think it was just yesterday, we took him to his application appointment. And in the next couple weeks, he'll have his own apartment, and he'll be getting housed." She also emphasized the emotional difficulty of outreach work and said the internship helped her learn how to support people through crises while preparing for long-term stability.
