Manistee County's Ways & Means Committee on Feb. 4 recommended that the county accept January on-demand checks, ACH payments and payroll totaling $2,794,793.10.
Susan Zielinski, the county finance officer, presented the claiming summaries for Jan. 1–31 and a separate report of ACH transactions. The reports showed $997,732.51 in checks and $765,208.07 in ACH payments across multiple funds, and total payroll of $1,031,852.52 (three payroll runs). Zielinski told the committee the combined grand total for the period was $2,794,793.10.
Committee member Richard Schmidt moved to recommend approval of the on-demand checks, bills and payroll; Chairperson Jeffrey Dontz seconded. The motion passed with all members present voting in favor. The committee placed the financial reports on file for the Board of Commissioners.
The reporting package included detailed fund-by-fund line items (for example, the Airport Authority Fund showed $74,589.73 in checks and a $481,059.00 ACH credit), and a note that totals covered two accounts-payable runs and three payroll runs. The committee reviewed those line-item appendices as supporting documentation for the motion.
The Ways & Means Committee will forward the recommendation to the full Board of Commissioners for final acceptance and placement on the county records.
