Commission approves two Agricultural Heritage Zone rezonings covering roughly 3,000 acres

The Commission approved two large rezone requests from "Unzoned" to the Agricultural Heritage Zone (AHZ). Community Development Director Scott Lyons said Ordinance #649 "contains approximately 1,362 acres" in the Tremonton area and noted the Planning Commission had recommended approval after a public hearing; the Commission voted to approve the ordinance. Lyons said Ordinance #650 concerns approximately 1,622 acres in the Garland/Riverside area and likewise had Planning Commission support; the Commission approved that ordinance as well.
