Commission approves $5,000 for radio encryption, writes off pre-2013 fire bills and updates consolidated fee schedule

Auditor Shirlene Larsen described four long-standing receivables for ambulance and fire services dating from before 2013 and recommended writing them off as uncollectible; Commissioner Perry moved to approve the write-off and the motion carried unanimously. Larsen also presented Resolution #26-09 to update the consolidated fee schedule (including fairgrounds and Recorder fees); the Commission approved it unanimously.
On a separate LATCF request, Auditor Shirlene Larsen presented a Sheriff's Office request for $5,000 to purchase encryption for handheld radios to maintain interoperability as agencies migrate to different systems. Commissioner Perry explained that, "because different agencies are now on a different system, it is necessary for a different encryption on the radios to be able to continue to communicate with the entities," and the Commission approved the LATCF allocation by roll call.
