Students, staff recognized; student council reports highlighted activities
Summary
At the Nov. 13 meeting Mason schools recognized two staff members of the month, honored senior Zhuoran Cai as a 2026 National Merit Commended Student and BCSN Spotlight Scholar ($1,000), and heard updates from high school and middle school student councils.
The board recognized Shawna Lucarelli (high school mathematics teacher) and Todd Hodge (CTE construction trades teacher) as Staff Members of the Month, sponsored by Leski Wittman Insurance Agency. Senior student Zhuoran Cai was recognized as a "Commended Student in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program" and was named a BCSN Spotlight Scholar who will receive a $1,000 scholarship; her spotlight is scheduled to air Dec. 14 through Jan. 4.
Student council reports followed recognitions. Molly Sepulveda provided updates on high school student council activities and Madeline Kolbe reported on middle school student council activities. The minutes record the presentations but do not include verbatim remarks from the students.
