The Box Elder County Planning Commission voted unanimously April 16 to forward a recommendation of approval to the County Commission for VAC26-01, a request to vacate the county right-of-way running southeast from the Utah–Idaho state line to the terminus on the Higley property in the Clear Creek area.
Staff told the commission the corridor is a public right-of-way by use rather than a deeded right-of-way and that no private interests within the right-of-way would be vacated; staff recommended approval. Commissioner Bonnie Robinson moved to forward a recommendation of approval; Commissioner Jed Pugsley seconded and the motion "carried unanimously." The commission’s recommendation makes the county commission the decision-making body and moves the matter to that public hearing stage.
