Board approves materials to extend water and gas lines for new Casey’s General Store

Henderson authorized $20,383.79 in utility material purchases to extend a six-inch water line and gas service to a planned Casey’s General Store at 45 Bypass and Eric Bell Drive; board accepted the low bid from G & C Supply Co., LLC.
Utility Director Darryl Green told the board that a Casey’s General Store is planned at the corner of the 45 Bypass and Eric Bell Drive and that the site currently lacks water service and fire protection. Green recommended accepting the lower materials bid from G & C Supply Co., LLC for $20,383.79 to install a six-inch water line from South Church to the driveway and material to run a gas line to the facility.
Alderman Keith Smith moved to accept the G & C Supply Co., LLC quote of $20,383.79; Alderman Buel Maness seconded and the motion carried. The board authorized purchasing the material with the stated expectation that G & C’s regular truck run through the area would reduce freight charges. Recorder Jim E. Garland or Utility Director Darryl Green are to follow up on scheduling and procurement details.
